June 10 Sunday 10th june walk. Youlgreave, Peak DistrictColin And Helen led the walk today. Change in walk due to last weeks walk going to the same area. So we picked Youlgreave in the White Peak. There was six of us with 2 new members. Dave on his second walk with the group and Erine on his first walk. We left Stockport in full sun but once into Buxton there was low clound and mist. But still very warm. We left Youlgreave by the Limstone trail path heading for Robin Hoods Stone for morning coffee. From there we went onto Winster fort he lunch time pub stop. Campbell finding out that Peak Practice was filmed in the Village. After lunch we headed North to Nine ladies stones. By now the sun was out. We then headed east back towards Youlgreave along the river. About 10 miles in all. Very hot end to the day. Both new members enjoyed the walk and we hoping to see them on another Sunday or a wednesday walk in the near future. June 06 Wednesday Walk. Around Daisy Nook Country ParkColin led tonights walk around Daisy Nook. Few Miles away from Stockport but 11 Members came along with 2 new members. One new member came from Disley. So the distance was not a problem. Few problems with over grown paths at the start of the walk plus missing the path by a few yards and going into some ones drive way. Hand pointing at the window told us which way. Then it was up into the village of Woodhouses and then back to Crime lake and along the tow paths. Easy walking finishing about 9 oclock. then it was off to the woodhouse gardens for a small drink. |
