    Sunday 20th May walk

Sue's walk in the Peak District took us from the car park at Pym's Chair
along the top to Shining Tor and then down onto the Goyt Valley. We lunched
by a stream where Howard watched the fish from a bridge reconstructed at
this point after the creation of Errwood reservoir. The walk continued on
the opposite side of the valley, returning across the dam, through the
grounds of Errwood Hall and via a shrine that had been built for a Catholic
maid of the Protestant family. It was a gentle 9 miles in cloudy, but
pleasantly calm conditions. We were pleased to welcome Dave from Reddish who
hopes to join us again. We enjoyed a drink at The Swan in Kettleshulme on
the way home. Our thanks to Sue for organizing the walk.

    Go Outdoors

On Saturday 12th May Stockport Walking & Outdoor Group set up a stand in the Go Outdoors store in Cheadle Heath where we handed out 250 copies of our summer programme to customers and answered questions about the group. Attached is a photograph of our stand with two members of our group on the right (Helen Cain & Clint Judge) with two employees of Go Outdoors in red t-shirts on the left.
