Thankfully for those of us suffering from colds, there were not too many hills to climb and the steepest was done early in the walk.
The weather was sunny and warm, although there was a cool breeze in the open areas on the top. In the afternoon we spotted some darker clouds but luckily the rain held off until the night.
We sat by the waterfall at lunchtime - sorry have forgotten the name, will come back & update it later! Campbell disappointed us by failing to fall in as he crossed the river (he could have used the bridge)
After another climb we went along to Hardcastle Crags and Gibson Mill Tea Shop then up again through the woods to the churches at Heptonstall. Some of the group went in search of Sylvia Plath's grave in the churchyard.
Then it was all downhill back to the cars.
Thanks Pam it was a lovely day

Sunday 19th April - Dunford Bridge walkA sunny start to the day as we met at Railway Road car park in Stockport for Vince's walk. We drove up to Dunford Bridge to meet those who had gone directly to the start and found it was a bit colder and misty! Never mind, 18 of us set off for the walk and as we went on the weather improved, turning into a warm sunny day. We enjoyed an 11 mile walk across the moors, well marked paths - well most of the time - some of the heather had been burnt since Vince rehearsed it so the path was less visible and we missed one turning. Luckily we realised before we went too far so it was easy to get back on track.
We had a pleasant pub stop towards the end of the walk, although it was tempting to go inside for a meal as it smelt good!
Thanks Vince

April 14 Easter at Borth20 of us enjoyed a great Easter weekend based at Borth Youth Hostel on Cardigan Bay.The weather was fantastic throughout and enabled us to enjoy
the best of both coastal and country walking. An adventurous group conquered Cader Idris on the Sunday, whilst the supposedly easy option found most of the others yomping through tussocky swamps and wading across streams. The Friendship Inn provided excellent opportunities to relax with beer, music and conversation, whilst the youth hostel, with its friendly staff afforded comfortable hospitality and peaceful sleep. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend!! From your reporter John.
You forgot the Red Kites!
